About Czech Republic for expats
The Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, charges employees 15% income tax on gross pay, with a 23% band for high earners. A fixed annual taxpayer credit reduces the bill; employee social and health contributions normally total 11.6% before the social-insurance ceiling. At typical salaries, employees keep about 77% of gross.
This model covers an ordinary resident Employee only. It calculates the annual tax liability after settlement, using twelve equal monthly salary payments for contributions. Monthly headline figures are annual results divided by twelve, not actual monthly withholding payslips.
